The Personal Injury Lawyers Marketing & Management Association (PILMMA) is the innovation of Kenneth L. Hardison, the senior partner of Hardison & Cochran, author, and the founder of Law Practice Advisor. Ken created PILMMA in order to fill the void of marketing and management resources available to personal injury and disability lawyers.

Because groups like the Legal Marketing Association mainly serve transactional and large corporate lawyers, PILMMA was solely created for personal injury and disability law practices.

Our Team

Ken Hardison | Founder

Ken Hardison practiced Injury and Disability Law for more than 32 years and built one of the largest Personal Injury law firms in North Carolina. He still actively consults with his former partner, Ben Cochran, regarding the marketing of the firm. In addition, Ken has a small Social Security Disability Firm in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Ken attributes his success to his persistence and willingness to try new things, primarily in marketing. Ken has had proven success with his firm and, in 2009, decided to share his knowledge with other lawyers. This led to the creation of the Personal Injury Lawyers Marketing and Management Association. PILMMA is the only legal marketing and management association exclusively for Injury and Disability lawyers.

Ken is a native of Dunn, North Carolina. He graduated cum laude from Campbell University in 1979 and from Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law in 1982.

Ken is also the author of “How to Effectively Market Your Personal Injury Law Practice in the 21st Century,” and numerous articles on marketing and managing Injury and Disability practices. He frequently addresses other lawyers and professional organizations focusing on marketing and managing contingency-based law firms.  Ken is an accomplished speaker, legal coach, copywriter and lecturer.

It has become Ken’s mission to teach Personal Injury and Disability lawyers how to market, manage and grow their practices through their involvement with PILMMA.

Lori Coles | Chief Financial Officer

Lori Coles is the Chief Financial Officer at PILMMA. She first started working for Ken Hardison in January 2012.

Lori has more than 20 years of bookkeeping experience and is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

When not at work, you can find Lori with her husband of almost 30 years, her three children and three grandchildren. Her dream is to one day build a log cabin.

Sherry Myers | Director of Operations

Sherry Myers is the Director of Operations at PILMMA.

She joined the PILMMA team in August 2015. Prior to coming onboard, she worked as the lead case manager at Mr. Hardison’s Carolina Disability Lawyers practice.

When not at work, she loves spending time with her family, especially her two grandchildren.

Billy Fansler | Director of Marketing

Billy Ray Fansler is the Director of Marketing at PILMMA. He has a hand in helping the company use technology to its fullest advantage and build out the processes and systems to make things “work” behind the scenes. Billy is also an Infusionsoft Certified Consultant and the Head Honcho at The Marketing Life.

He was born in the Philippines, grew up in Utah and somewhere between now and then, landed in Durham, NC where he first met Ken and was PILMMA’s very first employee. After a brief stint on his own, he came back in the summer of 2014 to help PILMMA become one of the few companies that use ‘ALL’ of their Infusionsoft account.

He enjoys podcasts like the Joe Rogan Experience, Ari Shaffir’s Skeptic Tank and Bill Burr’s Monday Morning Podcast. Also, enjoys hanging out with his pit bull “Lou Dawg” and his fiancee, Heather. He loves diving into new technology and figuring out how to leverage it effectively for personal and business use.

Beth Hendricks | Editorial Director


Beth Hendricks is the Editorial Director at PILMMA. She has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communications and a master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications. Beth has worked in the newspaper and magazine industry and in marketing roles for both non-profits and a regional law firm with more than 120 attorneys.

She was born in Huntington, West Virginia, but decided to take up the beach life and moved to Myrtle Beach in May 2017, joining the PILMMA team shortly thereafter.

Beth enjoys technology (most of the time), football, reading, traveling and music.

Jamie Ramirez | Director of Member Services

Jamie Ramirez is the Director of Member Services at PILMMA, joining the team in May 2017.

She is originally from Virginia, where she graduated from Virginia Tech. While in college, Jamie belonged to several clubs, volunteered with various organization and was a sister of Kappa Delta.

When not at work, you can find Jamie spending time with her family or playing with animals at the Humane Society.

Courtney Krystek | Director of Technology & Design

Courtney Krystek is the Director of Technology and Design at PILMMA, having joined the team in December of 2017.

Courtney is originally from Arizona and has worked in the Marketing field for several years as a graphic designer, videographer, copywriter, and photographer.

In her free time, she enjoys reading books and academic journals and going hiking with her cat, Luna.
