People hire lawyers they “know, like and trust.” You all know I’ve been preaching this for over 20 years now.
So, every time we discover a new marketing tactic to help achieve that mantra, we encourage our members to implement it fast and furiously.
The “Rx Card Project” is the rebirth of an older program we used to promote to our Injury and Disability Lawyers.
The Rx Card is a Drug Discount Card that gives the bearer up to 70% discounts on a wide range of medicines at virtually all drug stores in America. (CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, etc. It doesn’t work in conjunction with any other discount cards or health insurance.)
PILMMA has negotiated a deal with the company providing these cards to get your firm’s name, and logo put on each card for $.05 per card.
Free advertisement is great! But I see a much deeper and significant return on these Rx Cards than great advertisements. Under the theory of reciprocity encouraged by Cialdini in his book “The Psychology of Influence,” when you do a favor for someone or give them something of value, most people feel indebted and want to reciprocate by doing something for you.
This something could be:
1. Hire you or
2. Refer a friend or family member to your law firm.
The key is that this Rx Card can become a powerful marketing tool in your arsenal of marketing tactics at minimal costs!
So, how do you distribute and get the cards out to the right people? Below is a list of suggestions. I’m sure you can come up with even more!
Marketing Tactics for RX Cards

1. Give them to all your new and existing clients.
2. Give extra cards to your clients to give to their friends and family.
3. Put them in doctors’ offices, clinics, and other medical facilities. (This could be an icebreaker for your book later on!)
4. Give them out at your Advisory Board Meetings for your clients to give to their family and friends.
5. Put them on your website as a freebie that can be mailed to them. (Once you get addresses, and two you can put them on your Newsletter list.)
In summary, this grassroots marketing tactic is economical, easy to implement, and very effective. Email office@pilmma.org to get yours today.◆
